Australian Made, Community Focused
Essity, the manufacturer of Libra products, is proud to be the only company producing period care products in Australia - supporting local jobs and giving back to those in need across our communities.

The Only Manufacturer of Period Care in Australia
For over 35 years, Essity, the maker of Libra, has been the only company producing pads, tampons and liners locally in Australia. We’re proud to support local jobs, employing over 130 workers in our personal care factory in Australia. But our impact goes beyond manufacturing. As Essity is the only local manufacturer of period care products, we are naturally the largest donator of Period Care products to people in need within Australia, donating product via 62 Not-For-Profit organisations. In 2024 alone, we supplied over 1.48 million period care products to remote First Nations communities, because period care is a basic right, not a privilege.
Australia’s Largest Donator of Period Care Products
Share the Dignity
We proudly partner with Share the Dignity to support the Indigenous Menstrual Health Program, which sees hundreds of thousands of period care products donated to organisations that support remote Indigenous communities across Australia. Through this partnership, we’ve donated over 260,000 packs of Libra period care products, providing crucial support to women and girls experiencing homelessness or financial hardship. These donations help break barriers, ensuring access to hygiene products that promote health, dignity, and equality for those in need.
Breaking Barriers, Leading Change
For too long, periods have been treated as something to hide. At Libra, we believe it’s time to change that.

Through our Period Positivity Program, we’re on a mission to destigmatise periods, eliminate shame, and ensure everyone has access to the products they need, when and where they need them.
We were the first brand in Australia and New Zealand to show real blood in our #bloodnormal campaign, boldly challenging period stigma. We also worked with the Victorian Government to develop the Libra Period Care Dispenser, now available in every Victorian government school. This initiative has sparked momentum for period care accessibility across Australia and New Zealand, setting a powerful example for other governments and institutions - and since then, we have placed thousands of dispensers throughout the region.
But we’re not stopping there. We’re now driving the push for period care in public spaces and leading the charge to make it accessible in workplaces too. Through our ongoing efforts to challenge outdated norms, we’re breaking down barriers and pushing for a world where period care is as accessible as a toilet paper. Join us in normalising period care in every away-from-home environment.
