How does it work
Products
How do the connected products work?
- Sensors in connected dispensers collect status levels and people counters track visitor traffic. The data is picked up via Bluetooth® Low Energy by a Tork gateway or existing IT infrastructure.
- The data is shared with the Tork IoT platform, which processes it and makes it available for user applications.
- Users view the information in the On the Go for Tork app. Managers can also view additional insights on a website.
What does data-driven cleaning mean?
It means the cleaning plan is automated and cleaning teams respond to real-time information from sensors. This results in always having enough paper and soap for restroom users, helping to cut complaints. Cleaning teams know when and where there are issues and when and don’t waste time on unnecessary checks.
How do cleaning teams know what to do?
They follow the cleaning plan in the On the Go app. Urgent tasks are highlighted and prioritized. A yellow status shows when a dispenser can be refilled, while red shows when it needs to be refilled and green means that there’s no action required. Cleaning teams open dispensers only when needed.
How do you work with software development?
Tork makes continuous upgrades and improvements to the applications to support the user experience. We also develop new features based on input and feedback from various sources and channels.
What languages are available with the app?
You can choose from several different languages, and the mobile app supports understanding with easy-to-follow icons and a traffic light system to help break through language barriers.
What is a people counter?
A people counter is a sensor mounted on the ceiling. It indicates when there is a cleaning need and creates cleaning tasks in the app’s cleaning plan.
How accurate is the data from people counters?
People counters provide useful analytic data, but it isn’t absolute. We want to avoid using cameras – instead, we measure the heat signature of people. The sensors indicate cleaning needs and help to optimize your cleaning plan over time.
How accurate is the data for connected dispensers?
The dispenser refill status is based on algorithms, making sure that refilling takes place when needed. Historical consumption figures are useful information, however it’s important the dispensers only get refilled when the status is showing yellow or red. Refilling should always be done with full bundles or rolls. Any broken bundle or half roll will negatively influence the statistics.
What do you mean by real-time data?
Real-time data means that information from the dispenser is transferred to the application within less than 10 minutes. The short delay is due to energy-saving settings which help reduce the need for frequent battery changes. Even if the status of an individual dispenser updates with a slight lag, the refilling action is still registered and the task is removed from the cleaning plan.

How can I get it?
Apps are available from the App Store and Google Play. To receive data, you need to have Tork sensor devices installed and an account with Essity with your site set up in the platform. Contact us for a demo to find out more.
I’m a Tork customer already, can I use my existing dispensers?
We’ll conduct a site survey to see how your site can be equipped. Some dispensers have evolved over time and sometimes a dispenser on the wall isn’t compatible with what we install today.

I’ve heard about Tork EasyCube® but can’t find any information about it
Tork EasyCube was launched in 2014 and has developed into a broader offer that’s called Tork Vision Cleaning. This includes an even more robust IoT solution that delivers data constantly on a global scale.
